Relevant section: Add users
Adding members is one of the core features of Kisi. We make it easy to create a customized access solution for everyone in your space.
Add Members
The emails must be active and valid inboxes. Otherwise, these emails will be blacklisted by Kisi's email sending servers.
To add Members:
- Sign in to Kisi
- Open your Place
- Click on Members
- Select Add Members
- Enter the member's email address. You can add more than one at a time, separated by commas. Hit enter when you are done entering the emails.
- Choose the Kisi Group that you want for your members, by clicking on the Add to groups dropdown. To edit the permissions for the group share, click on the pencil icon (next to the Group name).
You can choose to allow App Access and/or Quick Access Link, set the member's role, and enter an expiry date for the share. To learn more about these options, check Permissions for Group membership. Once you finish editing the permissions, click Save.
- Click Add
Once you add your Members, they will immediately receive an email from Kisi with the instructions on how to create an account and sign in.
Permissions for group membership
When adding Members, you can configure the permissions for the group share.
Allow App Access
When enabled, members can use the Kisi mobile and web apps to unlock the doors.
Allow Quick Access Link
When enabled, members will be able to unlock a door via a link on their web browser. With this option, members will not have to download the Kisi mobile app or sign in to unlock doors. We recommend using this option only for visitor access.
Role
This option allows you to change the role (and associated permissions) for the members at a Group level. There are 2 types of roles in Kisi: Group role and Place role.
- Place role: this will set the role and permissions on the entire Place, including access to all the doors in the space. You can the Place role of a member, from their profile, as shown below
- Group role: when adding members, you can configure the group role. This will only apply to the Group(s). Configuring a Group role will not change the Place role. The default Place role is Basic, meaning the members are only able to unlock doors inside the Group they were invited to. Learn more about User Roles and Permissions.
Valid From/Until
Enable and disable a share at a predetermined start and end date/time. This option is not enabled by default.
