This will happen when the Reader permission Held Open Buzzer is enabled, and a held open event is triggered.
If Contact Sensors are enabled and configured, the system will see doors as closed, opened, held open or forced open. When the Held Open Buzzer is enabled, the reader will flash green and yellow, while the reader plays an audible sound to alert about the held open event.
To change or view these permissions, in the Kisi Web Dashboard - navigate to Places, find your Place, navigate to Hardware, and finally select your Reader from the list.
You may view Held Open events in the Event History section as well.
If you observe that the door is not physically held open at the time this event is generated, here are some things you can check:
- Your contact sensor's Duration setting is too short. To check these settings, navigate to the Hardware section, click on the Controllers tab and then the relevant Controller. Clicking into the Contact Sensor in question will give you the ability to change the duration (in seconds) before the door is considered Held Open.
- If this does not resolve the issue, there may be issues with how your Contact Sensors are installed. More information regarding contact sensor configuration can be found in the article regarding Kisi shows doors as Open when they are Closed.
