Integrate Kisi with Spot AI

As a Kisi admin, you can integrate Kisi with Spot AI to monitor activities related to your Kisi doors. For example, you can view video footage in Spot AI whenever someone unlocks your doors.

This is a Kisi-built integration, maintained and supported by Kisi.

Prerequisites

• Kisi Organization Administrator access rights
• Spot AI Super Admin rights
• Owner authorizations for the API Key on the Spot AI dashboard
• At least one camera added to your Spot AI account

Each Kisi organization can have only one Spot AI integration.

Create the Spot AI API key

1. Sign in to your Spot AI account
2. Navigate to Configure > API
3. Click on Create New Key
4. Enter a name, e.g "Kisi API Key"
5. Choose your desired expiration date
6. Click Generate Key
7. Click on Copy Key and Close
8. Save the API Key

When the API key expires, Kisi disables the integration and stops sending events to Spot AI. Before it expires, generate a new key and update the API key in Kisi.

Set up the integration in Kisi

1. Sign in to Kisi
2. Click the integrations icon (3x3 grid of dots) > Add Integration
3. Provide a name for your integration, e.g. "Spot AI"
4. Open the Type dropdown and select Spot AI
5. Click on Add
6. Under configuration, enter the API Key value you obtained before
7. Click Save

Setup creates an integration named Kisi in Spot AI, with an event type called Kisi Event.

Add doors

1. Click Add Door
2. Under Select Place, select the place
3. Under Search Doors, select the door
4. Under Cameras, select up to four Spot AI cameras
5. Click Save
6. Click Return

The Cameras list shows every camera that the API key can see in your Spot AI account. Each door needs at least one and at most four cameras. You can add each Kisi door only once, so doors you've already added don't appear under Search Doors.

Each door you add becomes a Spot AI integration device named after the Kisi door and linked to the selected cameras. If you rename the door in Kisi, the device name in Spot AI updates automatically. In Spot AI, open Integrations > Kisi to see your doors and their events.

Events sent to Spot AI

Kisi sends these door events to Spot AI, only for the doors you added to the integration:

• Unlock
• Door opened
• Forced open
• Held open
• First to arrive
• Last to leave
• Lockdown
• Lockdown canceled
• Scheduled unlock started
• Scheduled unlock ended

Manage doors

The door list shows the Place, Door and Cameras of each door. Use the Search Doors, Places, Cameras, .... box to find a door.

To remove doors:

1. Select the doors' checkboxes
2. Click Delete
3. Confirm with Delete in the Delete Door dialog

You can't change the cameras on a door that's already added. To change them, delete the door and add it again.

Update the API key

You can replace the API key at any time:

1. Generate a new key in Spot AI as described in Create the Spot AI API key
2. On the Spot AI integration page in Kisi, click Edit Configuration
3. Enter the new API key and click Save

Troubleshooting

The API key is invalid or expired

If Spot AI rejects the API key because it's invalid, expired or missing permissions, Kisi disables the integration and stops sending events. Organization administrators receive an email saying "Your API key is invalid.", and the integration page shows "Looks like something went wrong with the API Key you provided. Please reconfigure it."

To fix it, generate a new key with the rights listed in the prerequisites and update the API key.

Configurations in Spot AI were removed

If the Kisi integration or its event type is removed in Spot AI, the Kisi app shows "We noticed some configurations in Spot AI were removed. Would you like to continue with this integration?" Click Yes to recreate the integration in Spot AI with the stored API key, or No to leave it.

If the integration itself was removed in Spot AI, your doors are cleared from the Kisi integration and you need to add them again. If only one door's device is deleted in Spot AI, Kisi removes that door from the list automatically.

Error messages

These messages can appear in the Configuration Error, Error Importing Door or Error Deleting Door dialogs:

Error	What to do
Api Key is invalid, expired or has limited scopes.	Generate a new key with the rights listed in the prerequisites and enter it in Kisi.
Spot AI is currently unavailable. Please try again later.	Try again later.
The Spot AI integration was not found.	The Kisi integration was removed in Spot AI. See Configurations in Spot AI were removed.
There can be only one SpotAI installation per organization	Your organization already has a Spot AI integration. Use the existing one.

Remove the integration

1. Sign in to Kisi
2. Click the integrations icon (3x3 grid of dots) and select your Spot AI integration
3. Click Delete and confirm

Deleting the Spot AI integration in Kisi, or removing a door from it, doesn't remove the Kisi integration, devices or events from Spot AI. Delete them in Spot AI under Integrations if you no longer need them.
