Receiving Intercom Calls in the Kisi Web App
Overview
Kisi now supports receiving Intercom calls directly in the web app, allowing front desk staff or security teams to interact with visitors from their browser.
This integration brings seamless visitor management and real-time communication into a single interface, so teams can view who's at the door and take immediate action from anywhere.
When a visitor presses the call button on the Intercom, a real-time notification will appear in the Kisi web app. From there, authorized users can:
- View the live video stream from the intercom camera.
- Communicate with the visitor via two-way audio.
- Remotely unlock the door to the visitor.
Requirements
- An active intercom device installed and linked to your Kisi organization.
- A Kisi admin, assigned as a call receiver for the intercom with permissions to unlock the door.
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
- Granted Notifications permission for
web.kisi.io
on the browser.

Receiving a Call
When someone rings the intercom:
- A call dialog will appear at your screen.
- Click Answer to start the video and audio session.
- Click Unlock Door if you'd like to grant access to the visitor.
- You may also end the call, ignore it if needed or answer using mobile app.
Keep the Kisi web app open in a browser tab to receive calls in real-time.
Best Practices
- Use headphones or a quiet environment for clearer audio communication.
- Assign as call receivers only to users responsible for handling calls.
- Ensure your browser has microphone and notification permissions enabled for
kisi.io
