Managed Devices

Managed Devices in Kisi allows admins to maintain a list of devices managed by their Mobile Device Management system. When the Managed Device Restriction is enabled for a specific Kisi group, access for that group will be permitted exclusively from these managed devices.

Configure the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system

As a first step, you need to configure the app in your Mobile Device Management (MDM) system. To do this, define the Unique Device Identifier for each of your managed devices and populate the MDMDeviceID field.

Add new managed devices to Kisi

To add new managed devices to Kisi, you have two options:

1. Bulk import managed devices via CSV file
2. Manually add managed devices via the Kisi web dashboard

Bulk import managed devices via CSV file

1. Sign in to Kisi
2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations
3. Click Add Integration and select Upload Managed Devices
4. Use the provided template and follow the instructions to upload your data
5. Click on Return and verify that the managed devices have been uploaded correctly

Manually add managed devices via the Kisi web dashboard

1. Sign in to Kisi
2. On your organization dashboard, click on Managed Devices
3. Click on Add Device
4. Under Name, enter the device name, e.g. "John's iPhone 15 Pro"
5. Under Unique Device Identifier, enter the value you defined in your Mobile Device Management (MDM) system
6. Click Add

Enable the Managed Device Restriction

To make sure that access for a certain Kisi group will be permitted exclusively from these managed devices, make sure to enable the Managed Device Restriction for that group.

1. On your organization dashboard, click on Groups
2. Select the group that you want to enable the Managed Device Restriction for
3. Click on Permissions
4. Enable Managed Device Restriction
5. Click Save

Edit or delete managed devices

• To edit a managed device, simply select it from the Managed Devices list and update its information.
• To delete a managed device, select it and click on Delete.
• For bulk deletion of managed devices, select multiple items and click on Delete.

Is it necessary for users to download the Kisi mobile app on the managed device?

Yes, users must install the Kisi mobile app through the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system and ensure the managed device field is configured first.

Do users need to sign in, or is it done automatically?

Users are required to sign in manually, following the standard process.
