Managed devices

Managed devices allow admins to maintain a list of devices managed by their Mobile Device Management (MDM) system. When the Managed Device Restriction is enabled for a group, access for that group is permitted exclusively from these devices.

Step 1: Configure your MDM system

In your MDM system, define a Unique Device Identifier for each managed device and populate the MDMDeviceID field.

Step 2: Add managed devices to Kisi

Choose one of the following methods:

Bulk import via CSV

  1. Sign in to Kisi
  2. Click the integrations icon (3x3 grid of dots) > Add Integration
  3. Select Upload Managed Devices
  4. Use the provided template to upload your data
  5. Click Return and verify the devices were uploaded correctly

Add manually

  1. Sign in to Kisi
  2. Navigate to Managed Devices and click Add Device
  3. Enter the device name and the Unique Device Identifier from your MDM system
  4. Click Add

Step 3: Enable the managed device restriction

Once devices are added, you can enable the restriction on a group to allow access only from those devices.

  1. Navigate to Groups and select the group you want to restrict
  2. Click Permissions and enable Managed Device Restriction
  3. Click Save

Edit or delete managed devices

  • To edit a device, select it from the list and update its information
  • To delete a device, select it and click Delete
  • To bulk delete, select multiple devices and click Delete

Common questions

Is it necessary for users to download the Kisi mobile app on the managed device?

Yes, users must install the Kisi mobile app through the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system and ensure the managed device field is configured first.

Do users need to sign in, or is it done automatically?

Users are required to sign in manually, following the standard process.
