Integrate Kisi with Microsoft Teams

info

This is a Kisi-built integration, maintained and supported by Kisi.

As an admin, you can easily integrate Kisi with Microsoft Teams to enable real-time Kisi event and alert policy notifications within your Microsoft Teams channels. This allows you to stay fully informed, without the hassle of switching between multiple apps or worrying about missing essential updates.

Prerequisites

  • A Microsoft Teams account
  • Kisi administrator access rights

Configure the integration in Microsoft Teams

  1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 and open the Teams app
  2. Ensure that you have at least one Microsoft Teams channel to receive Kisi notifications
  3. Hover over the channel's name and click on More options > Workflows
  4. Under Notify a team, select Post to a channel when a webhook request is received
  5. Enter a name for this workflow, e.g. "Kisi Notifications". Meanwhile, a small green checkmark should appear next to your account.
  6. Click Next
  7. Click Add Workflow
  8. Under Workflow added successfully!, you now have the webhook URL. Copy it to the clipboard, as you will need it in next next step.
  9. Click Done

Configure the integration in Kisi

  1. Sign in to Kisi
  2. Open the Settings and click on Integrations
  3. Click on Add integration
  4. Provide a name for your integration and select Microsoft Teams from the dropdown
  5. Click on Add
  6. Click on Add channel
  7. Provide a configuration name, e.g. "Door unlocks"
  8. Under Webhook URL, paste the webhook URL you copied from Microsoft Teams
  9. Under Events, choose specific Kisi events for which you want to receive notifications (e.g. lock.unlock), or use the All option to allow notifications for all events
  10. Under Place, choose a specific Kisi place for which you want to receive notifications
  11. Optionally, toggle the switch for Allow alert policies notifications to receive alert policy notifications in your Microsoft Teams channel. (Note: If enabled, also ensure to activate Send alerts to external apps specifically for each alert policy for which you want to receive notifications.)
  12. Click Save
  13. Trigger an unlock event to test the integration. A notification should appear in your Microsoft Teams channel.
info
  • Please note that the bot is a one-way notification feature to receive events from Kisi.
  • To prevent duplication, either disable the alert policy or remove the corresponding event from the allowed events list.
  • If the option to filter by place is selected for any channel, the integration will only post events directly related to that place (e.g. door unlocks) to that channel. It won't send any notifications about organization-scoped events (e.g. user or access link creation). You may want to create a separate channel without place filtering in order to receive this type of events.
