Add third-party NFC credentials
- Enter card data
- Scan at a Kisi Reader
- Scan with the Kisi Android app
- Sign in to Kisi
- On your organization dashboard, click on Credentials
- Click on Add credential and select Single credential
- Select the Enter card data tab (selected by default)
- Under Card Type, select the appropriate option:
- If using card UID (unencrypted): Select 3rd Party NFC 4/7 byte
- If using encrypted MIFARE Classic cards: Ensure that MIFARE Classic card support is enabled, and select MIFARE Classic Encrypted
- Under Card UID (Hex):
- If using card UID (unencrypted): Enter the card token printed on the card (case sensitive)
- If using encrypted MIFARE Classic cards: Enter Card ID
- Under Assign to user, enter the email address of the user you want to assign this card to (required)
- Click Add

Enrollment mode is always on for the reader, no action is required to enable it.
- Sign in to Kisi
- On your organization dashboard, click on Credentials
- Click on Add Credential and select Single credential
- Select the Scan at reader tab
- Under Search place, select the place where the reader you want to use for scanning is installed
- Under Search door, select the door connected to this reader
- Under Select reader, select the Kisi reader you want to use for scanning. If the selected door has only one reader assigned, it will be selected by default.
- If you selected a Kisi Reader Pro 2, under Credential type, select High Frequency NFC
- Scan your credential by tapping it on the reader
- Once the credential has been detected, enter the email of the user you want to assign it to
- Click Assign. If you want to scan another card, click on Assign and scan another
- Enable NFC on your Android device under Settings > Device connection > Connection preferences > NFC
- Open your Kisi Android app
- Tap on the Home icon to open the admin dashboard
- Tap on Assign card
- Bring your credential to your phone so that the NFC reader in your device can read it. Alternatively, you can tap on Enter manually, enter the card token and tap on Submit
- Once the credential has been found, enter the user's email address you want to assign it to
- Tap on Assign
- Tap on OK
Enable MIFARE Classic encryption
MIFARE Classic card encryption offers enhanced security for access control within Kisi. To use this function, you, as the organization owner, need to enable it in your Kisi organization settings.
- Sign in to Kisi
- On your organization dashboard, click on Settings
- Select the Advanced tab
- Under MIFARE Classic Cards, enable the toggle for Support MIFARE Classic cards
- Fill out the configuration fields:
- Key type: Choose the key type used for encryption (e.g., Key A or Key B)
- Key value: Enter the hexadecimal value of the encryption key (6 bytes, 12 characters)
- Sector number: Specify the sector number where the data is stored (0-15)
- Block address: Enter the block address within the sector (0-3)
- Sector number = 0 and Block address = 0, is blocked.
- Data offset: Define the starting point within the block data (0-15 bytes)
- Data length: Specify the length of the data to read (1-16 bytes)
- Data offset plus Data length is less or equal 16 bytes
- Click Save
Once saved, you will be able to use encrypted MIFARE Classic cards within this Kisi organization for secure access and identification.

- Important: MIFARE Classic card encryption only works with the Kisi Reader Pro 2.1.
- Note: If you are using the card's UID (unencrypted), select 3rd Party NFC 4/7 byte as the card type when adding the credential.
Identify which MIFARE Classic card method to use
If you don't know which methods you are using currently, the numbers printed on the fobs can give you a clue.
- Sign in to Kisi
- On your organization dashboard, click on Credentials
- Click Add Credentials, then select Single Credential
- Click Scan at Reader tab
- Search for a place and a door where you have a Kisi Reader Pro 2.0 or 2.1
- Tap an unenrolled MIFARE classic card on the reader
- See the card UID shown on the Kisi dashboard
- Convert the card UID from Hexadecimal to Decimal number using this webpage
- Check if the Hexadecimal or Decimal number matches the numbers printed on the unenrolled MIFARE classic card
- If so, you are using the card's UID
