Visual analytics
Visual analytics lets you track how many people are present in defined areas of your facility over time. You define areas directly on a camera's live view, and Kisi reports on occupancy per area based on camera detection.
Visual analytics currently only supports flat VIVOTEK VORTEX cameras. Fisheye cameras are not currently supported because lens distortion affects detection accuracy. Support for additional camera models will be added in the future.
Prerequisites
- Advanced reports enabled for your organization
- A configured camera integration (currently limited to flat VIVOTEK VORTEX cameras)
- A camera with a clear, unobstructed view of each area you want to track
Set up visual analytics
- Sign in to Kisi
- In the left sidebar, click Incidents
- Select Visual Analytics
- From the place dropdown, select the place you want to configure
- In the search bar, select the camera you want to use
- Click Setup Area
- Draw the area by clicking on the camera feed to place points around its boundaries
- When you finish the area, enter a name for it
- Click Save
Repeat for each area you want to track.
Make sure every area you want to track is fully visible in the camera's field of view. If part of an area falls outside the view, occupancy tracking for that area will be inaccurate.
View occupancy data
After setup, occupancy data is available under Visual Analytics in two views. Each view shows data for the place as a whole and for each area individually:
- Occupancy heatmap — a weekly timeline showing how many people were present during each hour of the week
- Occupancy status — the percentage of time that people were present
